From as far back as I can remember, I’ve always been involved in sports. I was a baton twirler from age 4 through 14, competing Nationally for a number of years. I took lessons in gymnastics, swimming, figure skating, jazz and tap dancing. I love Volley Ball and still play in a recreational league. I started weight lifting about 6 years ago, but fell into the same trap that so many other lifters do—over training, under eating, and waaaaaay too much cardio. It worked great…until it didn’t. I loved my body, but I was exhausted and “hangry” all the time. It was only sustainable for about 3-4 months at a time, then would end up eating more, gain weight, then repeat the process to lose it. After about 2 years of this, it got to a point where no matter what I did, the weight wouldn’t come off and I gained more than ever before. My metabolism was completely “broken” and my body wasn’t responding or functioning like it should. One of my mottos is: “Don’t play the victim; if you don’t like something about yourself or your situation, CHANGE IT!” I came across a photo online of this beautiful blonde lady with a pregnant belly and she still had obliques and biceps to die for! I admit, I didn’t know who she was at the time, but I wanted to know more! It was Jessie. I spent hours going through her Instagram and thought, heck, if she can look like that pregnant, she must be doing something right!! I read the descriptions of her e-books and bought the Muscle Building program, did my macro calculations and panicked: “How am I going to lose this weight eating THIS MUCH FOOD!?” I showed my husband and he said, “Hun, nothing else has worked, so what do you have to lose?”

It was so hard, physically, mentally, and emotionally, to deal with. I was ashamed, frustrated, and lost. When you gain 50lbs, it changes everything about you and you don’t even look like the same person. I was no longer that confident, outgoing girl anymore. What did I lose? 20lbs so far! Jessie’s methods work, they are safe, healthy, and the smart way to train—this is why I’m passionate about being a Jessie’s Girl and why I’m always on our page trying to help anyone I can. I don’t want anyone to go through what I did and women need to know there is a better way! I eat almost 2200 calories/day, allllll the carbs, pizza and anything else “If It Fits My Macros and Micros”. The process for me is a slow but steady one, and that’s ok because this is for life—there’s no deadline, there’s no deprivation, no crash, no yo-yo’ing—only food, muscles, and pure happiness!

Muscle Building, Muscle Building 2, and I am currently doing Bikini Body!
I’m up at 4am and try to be a Ninja so I don’t wake my husband, which means grinding up oats and Rice Chex cereal in my Nutribullet the night before, storing it in a shaker cup with protein powder (Gold Standard “Cake Batter” flavor), so that in the morning I just add water and slam it down. I also do a pre-workout drink (C4 Watermelon or BPI) 10 minutes before I leave for the gym.
I often just have the same as my pre-workout meal because I’m short on time before heading out the door to go to work, but on weekends I sometimes switch it up and have scrambled egg whites in corn tortillas topped with a bit of salsa and Laughing Cow cheese (lite).
I would probably be a combo of two cereals—Cheerios because I always try to be a “cheery”-o person 😉 and Corn Pops because, as you can see, I’m a lil’ bit “corny”, haha. Ok, who am I kidding, I’m a LOT corny.
