Growing up in a small town in Ontario, I was always active – swimming, dancing, playing piano and was a competitive gymnast for 15 years. I was always on the go. After university and in to my 20’s, I fell in to a terrible rut of chronically under eating and not working out. I would have done any thing to stay “skinny”. I spent a lot of years eating 800-1200calories a day, spending endless hours on the cardio machines, miserable, hungry and tired. Even when I was at that “skinny” weight, I was never happy with the way my body looked. I was always wondering what I was doing wrong, why doesn’t all my hard work show? Why are my muscles not showing? Then I would give up, over eat for a while, gain weight, then start the under eating cycle all over again.

In my 30’s, I returned to school and got my Masters degree in Library and Information Science, got married to my amazing husband, had my 2 wonderful boys and in 2014 started running our own business. Life is pretty chaotic most of the time! We also have a 6 toed cat and a dog to add extra excitement to our lives. There is never a dull moment.

After what seemed like endless years of yo yo dieting, I had one last “diet”. For my 40th birthday in 2015, we had a dream vacation planned to Hawaii and I wanted to look thin on the beach. After a super crash diet, I was the lowest weight I’d been in 15 years. After returning home, I started gaining weight despite working out and under eating. I was frustrated and angry because my usual “diet” no longer was working. Then it happened. I met the woman who would change my life. In March 2016, I met Jessie in Las Vegas at one of her camps (after purchasing MB1 in January). At the time, I had no idea how much impact this woman would have on my life. Every thing changed from that moment on, my workouts changed, my eating habits changed, the way I viewed my training changed, my relationship with food changed, and then my physique changed. Finally, I could see the damage I had been doing to my body after all those years of abuse. One of the things I appreciated from Jessie was her honesty. She said this is not the easy road, it takes time for your body to trust you again, be kind to yourself and let your body heal………trust the process. And I did just that. I am so grateful to be part of this amazing group of women who celebrate fitness at any age, who uplift, support, and motivate one another to be your best self. It’s an amazing thing.

Rice Krispie’s because they are exciting with all the snap, crackle and pop, and versatile because you can make them in to dessert. This is like me in life, jack of all trades as a business owner and try to always keep life exciting.
